Success of a data-uplink from a MPC stand-alone sensor to a small satellite by trial radio wave

As an experimental project combined with ArkEdge Space Inc., which develops extremely small satellites, we succeed a data-uplink of ground environmental information from “ZIZO-1”, a ground communication devise using MPC, to “OPTIMAL-1”, an extremely small satellite, by trial radio wave.

At this experiment, we used MPC, which means it is possible to get environmental information, such as temperature, humidity and CO2 concentration, under off-grid environment, which does not have any ground infrastructure such as electricity and data communication.

Because of this, it is possible to get ground information worldwide via satellite at counties which do not have enough ground infrastructure and in inaccessible areas such as mountains, deserts, and oceans.
