AFP Publishes a Feature on Micropower Collection Technology

Today, we are pleased to share some exciting news with you.
On August 3, international media coverage of Micropower Collection (MPC) began. Over the following two weeks, we tracked how the story spread around the world. As of September 12, we have confirmed 233 instances of coverage across 23 languages worldwide.
This is more than simply the same article being republished. In many countries, the story has been given its own headlines, translated and re-edited for local audiences, and in some cases has even developed into independent feature and explanatory articles.
A small technological initiative from Japan—“collecting electricity from soil”—is beginning to cross national and linguistic borders and be discussed in the languages and contexts of communities around the world.
Our goal has never been simply to create a new power-generation technology. We aim to look more closely at the environments around us and at resources that have previously been considered to have little or no value, and to explore new ways of relating to energy.
We see this growing international interest as an important first step toward sharing this idea and perspective with people around the world.
We wanted to begin by sharing this progress with all of our members, whose continued support makes our activities possible.
The next question is how we can turn this growing global interest into future initiatives and opportunities. We hope to explore, develop, and shape the next steps together with all of you.
